ZANACO COACH ADMITS BEING UNDER PRESSURE

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

ZANACO FC coach Kelvin Kaindu has admitted being under pressure following his teams’ failure to pick maximum points from the last four MTN/FAZ Super League matches.

Speaking in an interview after Zanaco’s 2-0 drubbing by Nkwazi FC in a week-11 fixture on Wednesday at Edwin

Imboela Stadium in Lusaka, Kaindu said he was worried with the way the Bankers have accounted for themselves in the last four games where they have picked three draws and one defeat.

Kaindu said he was concerned with the state of affairs for the Bankers who are known for being consistent at winning games but missed a number of chances to lose to Nkwazi.

“It does worry me as a coach because if you look at the way we started we thought today we looked slightly stronger than Nkwazi, we had corners we had good chances but we could not utilise them, the challenge maybe is when we conceded the first goal, I think we just stopped. Look at the way conceded the second goal, we thought everyone thought it was an offside but it ended up into a goal.

“It does put me under pressure because football is a pressure game whether you are winning or losing, whether you are on top or in the middle of the table and ZANACO being a team that has been there consistently, if we are not picking victories consistently it is a challenge for the team,” Kaindu said.

He said his charges will have to develop a character to believe that they can do better than they have performed in the previous four games.

Zanaco are currently 13th on the Super League table with 11 points, on par with 12thplaced Konkola Blades, Prison Leopards and Indeni who are 14th and 15th respectively.
