FAZ PFL: Kitwe Bullets shoot to third

KITWE Bullets moved to third on the Football Associatio­n of Zambia Premier Futsal League (FAZ/PFL) table after overcoming Chipata Boys 5-2 in a Week-6 local derby played over the weekend at Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

It was Bullets second consecutiv­e win after they humiliated Kafue Celtics 9-2 in the week-5 played last weekend.

The win over Chipata Boys propelled the Witson Nyirenda-sharpened Bullets to 10 points, five points behind second-placed Kabwe K-Line and eight points behind the league leaders Automotive FC.

Automotive, who are the defending champions stunned Livingston­e Pirates 9-5 in an entertaini­ng derby to move to 18 points while maintainin­g an unbeaten run.

Meanwhile, after their week5 loss to Automotive FC, Kabwe K-Line bounced back to winning ways by beating Lusaka Avengers 4-2 in a tightly contested fixture.

The win escalated K-Line to 15 points while Avengers dropped to fourth after the defeat which ended their chances of challengin­g for the league title.

In other FAZ PFL matches played over the weekend, BS Stars bounced back from defeat to Chipata Boys by handing Siavonga Beetles their second consecutiv­e defeat following a 6-3 beating at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Meanwhile, George FC maintained top spot on the National Division One league of the FAZ PFL after crushing Veterans 16-1 in a Week-5 fixture.

The win propelled George to 15 points, on par with second-placed Lilanda Bullets who thrashed Mthunzi FC 19-5.

Kafue Saints remained third on the Division One futsal league table after trouncing Blue Bombers 27-1 to move to 12 points.
