EXPECT MASS DEFECTIONS OF PF MEMBERS - MWALITETA

- By GIDEON NYENDWA

THERE will be mass defections of people from the PF to UPND soon because they have realised that their party has got nothing to offer, UPND Lusaka Province chairperson Obvious Mwaliteta has said.

Mr. Mwaliteta said the 1, 000 Mufulira defectors from the PF to UPND were just a start as the country will soon witness mass movement of PF to UPND because they had realised that their party was dead and had nothing to offer.

He said people were getting to see the peaceful environment that the UPND government had created that was why they were flocking to the party.

Mr. Mwaliteta said people in the PF had realised that they were more comfortable to work with the UPND than their party that does not want to mend its ways that was the reason why they were rushing to join the UPND.

He said the PF themselves knew where they went wrong but they chose to continue treading on that path out of arrogance even after they were kicked out of power.

“Every common person was able to tell them where they went wrong,” he said.

He said PF misgoverned the country in all areas and they thought the UPND were going to take revenge once they assumed power but the government and the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema was aimed at uniting the nation that was why everyone was free including members of the PF.

Mr. Mwaliteta said the party would welcome all those people who were defecting because the party was peaceful and ready to work with anyone who was ready to work for the people of Zambia.

He said the agenda of the UPND was to unite the people and to make sure that the interests of the Zambians were put forward rather than advancing personal interests.

Mr. Mwaliteta said even if the former ruling party was saying that they were rebranding so that they could bounce back into power in 2026 was not possible because the party would be dead.

“What is happening to PF now is like when you kill a snake by crashing it from the head, the body will continue making movements but later die eventually,” he said.
