POWER, SHIMAINI INK SPONSORSHIP DEAL
SHIMAINI Investments, a milling initiative of the Mine workers Union of Zambia (MUZ) has said it will strive support the revival of football on the Copperbelt through supplying mealie meal to Power Dynamos of Kitwe.
Shimaini Investment Board of Directors Chairman Joseph Chewe said MUZ came up with the Shimaini Investment to be self-sustaining, support miners and possibly contribute to the revival of football on the Copperbelt
Chewe, who is MUZ President was speaking yesterday during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Shimaini Investment and Power Dynamos Sports Limited relating to the grant of sponsoring rights which included supplying mealie meal to the Super League side.
Chewe said, besides representing the interests of the miners, MUZ would like to see that investors in the mining sector contribute to the revival of football and other sports in the country
“In our small and humble way, we would like to contribute to the revival of football on the Copperbelt through supplying mealie meal. The contribution may be small, but what is important is the desire to support football
“I can say besides representing the interests of the miners, MUZ would like to see that investors in the mining sector contribute to the revival of football and other sports in the country. This is why we are urging investors in the mining sector to contribute to the revival of football and other sports in the country,’’ Chewe said
He said he was happy that the Copperbelt Energy Corporation had continued to sponsor Power Dynamos despite the challenges the club had been encountering
And Power Dynamos Sports
Limited Chief Executive Officer Happy Munkondya said he was grateful that the relationship between them had been formalised and was sure that the relationship would go to greater heights
Munkondya said the support he had been getting from Shimaini Investment was supplementing the efforts of the CEC in supporting the club
“I must say as PDSL, we are grateful for the support we have been receiving from Shimaini Investments. This formalisation of the relationship will go a long way to help the team to go to greater heights,’’ Munkondya said
