WE ARE NOT DISTRACTED BY ARMCHAIR CRITICS - UPND

- By OLIVER SAMBOKO

WE are not distracted by armchair critics whose only aim is to slow down our quest to rebuild the country’s economy and improve the living standards of the people, says UPND Southern Province chairperson Billard Makwembo.

He said the new dawn government under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema is committed to ensuring that campaign promises are fulfilled.

“As a party, we are not worried about negative criticism coming from a party like PF which betrayed the trust of the Zambian people. Ours is to see to it that the lives of our citizens are improved as per our campaign promises,” he said.

He said the PF mismanaged a lot of things but assured the Zambian people that the UPND will ensure that the economy is rebuilt for the benefit of all Zambians without any segregation.

Mr Makwembo said the UPND government will soon meet its developmental targets, adding that the President and his team have not come to office to enrich themselves but to serve the interest of citizens.

He said the people are anxious to see the new dawn government delivering on its promises and assured them of the UPND’s commitment to ensure that their living standards are improved.

Mr Makwembo said the people should not be worried about the pace at which things are moving as the government is setting up a firm foundation that will ensure the smooth execution of all the campaign promises by the new dawn government.

“The new dawn Government cannot move the wheels in just 100 daya, therefore, what we have done during this period is to lay a good foundation which has seen the appointment of competent people in key government positions,” he said.
