NORTH-WESTERN Province minister Robert Lihefu has reaffirmed Government's continued support in the implementation of Integrated Development Plans developed by all Local Authorities in the province.
Mr Lihefu said yesterday this is because the IDPs are a key drive in the development of each district and the province at large.
He disclosed that all the eleven councils had completed formulating the IDPs in their various district
"And for this reason, on behalf of government, I wish to pledge our support in ensuring that the documents are quickly approved for possible implementation," said Mr Lihefu.
The provincial minister was speaking during the close of the two days mini expo and provincial indaba in Solwezi.
He expressed happiness that the private sector was brought on board, stressing that development in any country does not happen without the involvement of key stakeholders such as the private sector.
"And I wish to acknowledge the importance of the event for providing a conducive environment for both the private and public sectors to support each other in developing the region," he said.
He implored the private sector to explore avenues in which they can fund projects directly or indirectly through public private partnerships so that Local authorities can benefit through external funding.
And Solwezi mayor, Remmy Kalepa, commended the North Western Chamber of Commerce and Industries for the initiative.
He said the initiative will market North Western Province by attracting massive investment in all the districts in the province in various sectors.
The two-day event saw institutions from both the private and public sectors showcasing their districts' investment potentials in various sectors.
Officials from both Government and private institutions attended the mini expo; notable among them were Civic Leaders, District Commissioners, Acting Town Clerk and Council Secretaries.
