Speak against violence threats

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE silence by the UPND leadership on threats by William Banda that he will crush the Patriotic Front (PF) is an affront to democracy, PF Copperbelt Provincial Media Director Munalula Moola has said.

Mr Moola said the silence by the UPND leadership on threats by William Banda that he would crush the PF was unfortunate.

“It is shameful that a political party which had promised Zambians ‘Heaven on Earth’ had failed to provide hope to the majority of Zambians who were poverty stricken. This is why Zambians are missing the PF after being misled by the UPND. They have realised the mistake they made,’’ Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola said Zambians, especially the majority who were poverty stricken must open their eyes and realise that they have been used and dumped because President Hichilema was no longer associating with the poor after giving him a vote .

He said, despite promising to look into the welfare of the poverty stricken and improving their lives, the republican President has had no time to even hold a rally to thank Zambians for his victory.

Mr Munalula said the move by Local Government Minister Garry Nkombo was a clear indication that the ruling party has nothing to offer, apart from violence and intimidation,

He also said the chasing of the vendors from the streets like common criminals had showed the true character of the UPND leadership and its perception of the poor in society.

Mr Moola said, under the PF, the poor were being treated with courtesy and respect unlike the current situation were the whole entire Local government Minister Garry Nkombo followed the vendors to chase them from the streets.

“To have a Minister going on the streets to chase vendors from the streets, it’s a clear indication that, that Minister has nothing to do. I have never seen such a thing. The problem we have is that most of the UPND leaders are arrogant and don’t have the heart for the people.
