MATAMBO PRODS CHURCH ON RADICAL SHIFT

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE Church and other stakeholders must be part of the radical shift on mindset from that of government being the sole provider of community needs to being an agent of change by taking advantage of opportunities presented at door steps,’ Copperbelt Minister, Elisha Matambo, has said.

Mr Matambo said the K25.7 million Constituency Development Funds (CDF) was one of the various opportunities which the government had presented at the door steps of various communities and needed to be used for poverty alleviation and food security in the country.

Speaking on Sunday at the Living Water Global Church in Kitwe when he officiated at the dual album launch of Pastor Jean Zyambo , Mr Matambo said gospel music as an art, which did not only edify but can also be used as a great vehicle for employment creation.

“May I call on each one of us here today to be part of the radical shift on mindset from that of government being the sole provider of community needs to being an agent of change by taking advantage of opportunities that government has presented at door steps to include but not limited to the CDF, he said.

Mr Matambo, who pledged K10,000 to support the Church in various ways, said his office was looking forward to working with the church on matters of national development, saying the New Dawn government operated an ‘Open Door’ policy and therefore encouraged the church to be at liberty to engage government on matters of national interest. And Living Water Global Churches Chief Bishop and Founder, Bernard Nwaka, prayed for peace in the country and asked God to grant those in authority with wisdom, intelligence and humility as they oversee the country and its people.
