CHIPOLOPOLO striker Fashion Sakala rescued Glasgow Rangers from losing to log leaders Celtic FC in a Scottish Premiership encounter played on Sunday afternoon after scoring the equaliser at Celtic Parkhead.

Sakala impressed in the 90 minutes of the “Old Firm” derby which was closely contested.

And speaking after the match, Sakala said he was proud of his teammates for the great performance at Parkhead.

"We gave everything and I’m very proud of the team’s performance. Never give up and keep working hard. Thank you so much for support and it means a lot," Sakala said in a post on his official social media platforms.

Celtic had taken an early lead with Jose Jota silencing the visitors with a goal in the 21st minute.

However, Rangers came back strong in the second half and dominated play before Sakala stunned Celtics with a goal after a perfect setup from Ryan Kent.

Kent smoothly put through Sakala who struck powerfully with his left foot to beat former Tottenham Hotspurs goalkeeper Joe Hart on the near post.

Sakala who has now propelled his goal tally to eight league goals could have grabbed a brace with five minutes before the final whistle but was unfortunate as his low shot hit the post.

Sakala's goal tally in all competitions is now at 11 after scoring three goals in the Scottish Cup and eight goals in the Scottish League.

Rangers' next fixture will be a UEFA Europa League Semifinal second leg match at home to German Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig on Thursday.

The Scottish giants will be seeking to recover from a 1-0 defeat suffered when they visited Germany last Thursday.

meet Manchester United on Saturday after picking up a groin injury during Brighton’s eye-catching win over Wolves in their last Premier League fixture.

After yesterday’s clash with Brentford at Old Trafford, Manchester United will visit Sussex over the weekend to face Brighton who may be without the Zambian international.

Mwepu who has been crucial to Brighton's success in the last few games had a decent first half and was part of a dominant midfield three that included the impressive Moises Caicedo and Yves Bissouma.

His afternoon was however cut short when he signalled to the bench that he had a problem and he limped off on 63 minute to pave way for his replacement Adam Webster.

Brighton head coach Graham Potter will hope the injury is not too serious as the Mwepu, Bissouma, Caicedo combination has added fresh power and energy to the midfield.

"I think he felt his groin a little bit," Potter said. "Whether it was just fatigue we will see. In the next 24-48 hours we will have more of an idea," Potter told journalists after the win which propelled them to ninth on the EPL log with 44 points.
