PLOT TO SUBVERT COURSE OF JUSTICE EXPOSED! …caught in their own spider’s web?

- By NATION REPORTER

GOVERNMENT has been embroiled in another scandal following the surfacing of another audio which has gone viral on social media in which some officials are allegedly plotting to subvert the course of justice, the Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) has disclosed.

ZRP president, Wright Musoma, said it was disappointing that the people who are supposed to uphold the constitution were in the forefront of abrogating it.

He said, he was shocked to come across an audio circulating on social media, pointing to a conspiracy to get Patriotic Front (PF) and former government officials facing corruption charges, jailed.

He explained that according to the audio, part of the plan was to use some compromised judiciary staff and in one particular case, “there was mention of a magistrate who wants promotion.”

Last year, a similar audio surfaced in which two senior government officials were heard plotting to subvert the course of justice to fix the Democratic Party (DP).

The DP has since challenged the Inspector General of Police, Lemmy Kajoba, to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, PF chairperson for publicity and information Raphael Nakacinda says the party was aware of a State plot to have almost all the senior PF members locked up.

And in a recent facebook post, Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo said President Hakainde Hichilema claims to have restored the rule of law and yet he is busy discussing cases still actively before the courts and convicting accused persons even before trial begins.

Mr Nakacinda said he was not even shocked because he had known for a long time that State House was calling the shots.
