I remember he said this when he visited the White House and was hosted by USA Vice-President, Kamara Harris...
Off course KK and Chiluba were regulars (especially KK) at the White House and meet ing the President!
The President repeated these assertions during the official opening of the 1st EU- Zambia Economic Forum. He may need time to update himself on the history of this country - the high-flying, high-level, renowned and in ternational meetings Zambia has hosted
We have hosted kings, queens, head of States, heads of UN agencies and other multilateral institutions and captains of industries.
We have hosted, chaired, founded, promoted and held positions, meetings, confer ences, and summits.
We are co-founders of the Organisation of Africa Unity,
Frontline States, SADC, PTA and others.
It is for this reason that Lusaka is known as the Capital of Treaties and Negotiations in Africa!
The construction and history of Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Taj Pamodzi Hotel and Mulungushi Village is linked to the history of high-level meetings Zambia has held and their subsequent expansion developments at Mulungushi and Millennium Village all speak to the confer ences Zambia hosts.
If his staff can’t do this, we may have to compile the firsts that Zambia has done, to save him the embarrassment that nothing new is being rein vented. We can only perfect, reinvigorate, renew, and build upon the past.
By the way, palwandi ine, we formed the Zambia-South Africa Business Forum that hosted the two Presidents in Lusaka, and Pretoria... three times!
