Corruption fight is not political, says Bwalya

PRESIDENTI­AL spokespers­on Anthony Bwalya says there is nothing political about the fight against corruption.

Mr Bwalya says the fight is to ensure that the funds that were meant to provide opportunit­ies for many are given back to the Zambian people.

He says people should not pol itick the fight as it is purely a fight against corruption and ensuring that the monies stolen from the Zambian people are returned back.

And Mr Bwalya says has reiter ated president Hakainde Hichile ma’s commitment to delivering on his campaign promises without fail.

Mr Bwalya says President Hi chilema is aware of the promises he made and will endeavor to do so for the benefit of all Zambians.

Meanwhile, Political Activist, Elias Chanda, Mulenga has ob served that President Hakain de Hichilema is making visible progress to attract investment.

Mr. Mulenga, a former UPND National Youth Chairman for Mobilisati­on, says it is under President Hichilema's leader ship that First Quantum Miner als (FQM) plans to invest US$1.2 Billion in the Kansanshi mine expansion.

The Political Activist says it is under President Hichilema's leadership that Moxico Resourc es Limited, a British Firm which has partnered with Mimbula Mineral Resources, a local min ing firm has injected about $100 Million into mining exploratio­ns in Chingola on the Copperbelt.

Mr. Mulenga has lauded the efforts by President Hichilema as the planned investment would help the country to meet the tar get of producing three million tonnes of copper in the next 10 years.

And Mr. Mulenga says it is un der President Hichilema's lead ership that the European Union (EU) and the Internatio­nal La bour Organizati­on (ILO) have signed a 6.5 Million Euros part nership agreement to implement a four-year Skills Developmen­t for Increased Employabil­ity Pro gramme -SDEP- in Zambia.
