CONSORTIUM SLAMS NKANA MP

- By ROGERS KALERO

CONROVERSY has erupted over alleged accidents associated with the Black Mountain with the consortium warning Nkama Member of Parliament, Binwell Mpundu to stop bad mouthing the empower ment because he was also a beneficiary.

Mr Mpundu has no moral ity to criticise the operations of the Black Mountain or talk about the trucks damaging the roads because he has two personal trucks operating at the site, Black Mountain Consortium spokesperson, Kangwa Kamando, has said .

Mr Mpundu has however, hit back, saying Mr Kamando was being childish if he thinks that allocation of two trucks to the MP’s office will stop him from speaking out against wrongs.

He said he had given the said trucks to youths in his constituency but vowed that this would not stop him from commenting on wrongs con cerning the Black Mountain.

And Mr Kamando said the consortium was not happy with Mr Mpundu who was in the habit of going to Facebook to attack the consortium and was now contemplating giving the two trucks to Chisokone marketeers who would ap preciate its efforts unlike the Nkana MP who was ungrate ful and hypocritical.

Mr Kamando was reacting to a statement by Mr Mpundu that those running the Black Mountain were sowing a bad seed among the people of Nkana who are complaining everyday, adding that the acci dents were leaving a very bad impression on the whole em powerment exercise.

The MP said the contin ued complaints of people in Nkana should be addressed before the exercise finishes otherwise they will not be forgiven.

Mr Mpundu said his role was to speak for the people and he was heart broken over these accidents claiming lives and causing permanent inju ries to the young people in the area.

But, speaking during a press briefing at Moba Hotel in Kitwe yesterday, Mr Kamando said he was disap pointed that Mr Mpundu was always resorting to Facebook or social media whenever he had concerns over the opera tions at the Black Mountain.

He said the consortium has had a good working relation ship with the Wusakile MP Pavyuma Kalobo who engages the consortium whenever he has concerns over the opera tions at the site.

“The Nkana MP has been complaining about the trucks damaging the roads but he has two personal trucks oper ating at the Black mountain.

“So if he has two personal trucks operating at the Black Mountain, which roads do they use? Are they not among those which damage the road? Does he carry them on his head or he carries them in his hands ,” Mr Kamando said.

Meanwhile Mr Mpundu says Mr Kamando is acting childishly by thinking the al location of two trucks to the office of the two MPs Nkana and Wusakili was meant to shut them up from talking when things are wrong re garding the black mountain.

“I wish to confirm that yes, my office was allocated two trucks which I gave to young people who are getting K120 per truck and because they could not find trucks they ne gotiated with a transporter who has been given one truck while they retained one truck and it has now been three weeks and have since not even gotten any single payment.’
