UPND becoming irrelevant, says PF

…to majority poverty-stricken Zambians

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE NEW dawn administration is becoming irrelevant to the majority poverty-stricken Zambians because it is abusing their vote in the August 12, 2021 elections to persecute the leaders of the Patriotic Front (PF) instead of setting the stage for poverty alleviation and food security, the PF has said.

PF Copperbelt Media Director Munalula Moola said the majority poverty-stricken Zambians who decided to replace the PF with the UPND with the hope of having their lives improved, were now disappointed to see that poverty and hunger had worsened under the new dawn administration

In an interview in Kitwe at the weekend, Mr Moola said it was disappointing that instead of solving the various challenges facing the nation, the new dawn administration was busy boasting about itself, showing an offensive attitude of superiority and persecuting political opponents especially those from the PF.

He said, the attitude of the new dawn administration towards the PF and its leadership was a clear indication that despite winning the August 2021 elections, the UPND was still scared of the former ruling party hence using all sorts of means to weaken it.

He appealed to the PF central committee to ensure unity of purpose and desist from putting personal interest before that of the party ahead of its convention .

“People out there are crying and gnashing their teeth because of the worsening poverty and hunger in the 10 months of the new dawn. Wherever and whenever you meet them, they are saying PF must desist from any form of division, but instead mobilise so that it can bounce back.

“Yes, we can differ on principle, but let us keep PF intact. This UPND has become irrelevant to the majority poverty-stricken Zambians because instead of using their vote to improve their lives, it is using their vote to intimidate and persecute leaders of the PF,’’ Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola said even the UPND officials who were insulting PF and former President Edgar Lungu on social media know deep down their hearts that it was a better government than the new dawn, but they were only making noise to be heard by President Hakainde Hichilema.

He said PF was a better government and was closer to the people unlike the UPND which has distanced itself from people after winning the election while coming up with fake empowerment programmes.
