Cristoforetti wwto use futsal tourney to monitor players

-

“For me in particular, as national futsal team coach, the tournament presents an opportunity to have a good look at the players consistently from the team that play in the Super Division,” Cristoforetti said.

Meanwhile, Cristoforetti said he was impressed with new teams such as Eastern champions Warriors FC and Mudi Stars despite the later having started the off season tournament with a 2-0 defeat to Automotive FC.

“Mudi Stars has been around for many years and they have a good number of quality players and we are happy to have them because it will add quality to the tournament and the league if they will be joining

“And for the other players who play football it has been a big surprise for me seeing them meaning we have so many quality players out there but they just don’t have so much experience in the futsal playing on a hard surface pitch so the premier futsal league it is important to get players from deferent teams because we know that both parties will benefit even football club so it is a win for us,” he said.

The off season futsal tournament kicked off with Chipata Boys beating George FC 4-3 before Automotive’s 2-0 beating of Mudi Stars.

Kitwe Bullets who collected a walk over win over Kabwe K-Line in their first game beat BS Stars 3-1 while Chipata Boys stunned Black Diamonds 6-5 in a tightly contested fixture to collect their first three points in Group A.

The tournament continues on Wednesday with Bullets facing Warriors FC while George FC will seek redemption when they face Jokers FC on Friday.
