‘I’M INNOCENT’ TION

…U-17 women’s team coach rejects sex abuse allegations

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

ZAMBIA Under-17 national women’s team coach Kaluba Kangwa insists that he has never abused any female footballer as alleged by United States-based sports journalist Augustine Mukoka.

In his response to Mukoka, Kangwa expressed shock that he was being attacked by a fellow Zambian who has dented his image as a “simple matured man.”

Kangwa said he was a very responsible person who was saddened by the sex abuse allegations.

“This is really a challenge to see your own people fighting you and your own people after your life! What have I done wrong to you and everyone? I have never done anything wrong to you and everyone! Why are you doing this to me? I’m just a simple and matured man, very responsible in my life. Am saddened to see this and the way you are judging me,” Kangwa said in a text message to Mukoka.

Anyway, zikomo kwambili ( Thank you so much) for your work and your mission. I’m a very innocent person and the damage you have caused to my family is deep, to my life is deep, to my career is deep! God is my witness but the truth will come out. Lesa amipale (God bless you) for your works,” he said.

Meanwhile Mukoka has challenged Kangwa to seek legal action if he is innocent and feels aggrieved by what has been exposed.

“If you feel aggrieved and feel very confident that you’re innocent, please commence legal action so we can summon everyone by means of subpoena to testify under oath what has been happening at BUSA under your watch,” Mukoka replied.

Mukoka alleged that Kangwa is among the main culprits in the FAZ sex scandal as he impregnated a 15-year-old girl in 2013.

He noted the need for an independent investigation into the sex scandal to begin in earnest to save the girlchild from abuse.

“I insist that the inquiry is a matter of urgency. Let’s begin these investigations now and save the girl-child,” Mukoka said.

He called for the suspension of all the culprits named in the sex scandal if they are connected to any team.
