NORTEC hailed for contributing immensely to the economy

BIA Zambia Chairperson for Corporate Social Responsibility Committee (CSR) Kenny Kapempe said they were impressed with the calibre of graduates which NORTEC was producing and has since pledged support to government through more
CSR activities that would offer more practical lessons to students
Mr Kapempe, a former NORTEC student and now Ngweshi ward councillor, was speaking when BIA Zambia donated GD 825 Heavy Equipment engine valued at US$8, 000 to NORTEC as part of its CSR programme.
“BIA was working with government to drive the skills development agenda and ensure that students are motivated to work hard in an enabling environment with all relevant equipment,’’ Mr Kapempe said
And BIA Zambia Human Resource Manager Philile Moyo said NORTEC was the second institution of higher learning to receive learning equipment as part of BIA Zambia 120 days of CSR
Ms Moyo said BIA group was commemorating 120 years of existence and it was against this back ground that it had resolved to conduct CSR activities every 120 days
And NORTEC acting Principal Martin Kasonso expressed gratitude to BIA Zambia for its continued support to the institution, saying the donation of the engine could not have at a better time than this when it would add value to the provision of quality hands-on training in order to meet the needs of the industry.
