Sarago backs Zambia International Motor Rally
SARAGO Motors Limited has announced a K250, 000 sponsorship package as headline sponsors for this year’s Zambia International Motor Rally which revs off on October 21 in Lusaka.
About 17 local drivers have confirmed participation and prominent among them is Gomes who is the current Zambian Champion.
Gomes will compete in a Ford R5 while Mujo Simakoloyi, who is leading the Zambian championship will compete with his Subaru N14.
Also participating will be Mohammad Essa who is a former Zambian and African Rally Champion, in a Subaru N14 and Muna Singh Jr. a former four-time Zambia Champion who will compete with his Subaru GC8.
Four foreign crews from Kenya have entered the rally while the others crews are expected to come from South Africa.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the partnership with Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) Sarago Motors Chief Operating Officer Luonde Kyanamina, who was elated with the partnership with the ZMSA reafirmed their commitment to support the international rally which has existed for over 50 years.
This is the second year that
Sarago Motors, a privately owned leading supplier of a rich array of vehicles, is partnering with ZMSA.
And ZMSA president Sam Ching’ambu said the coming on board of Sarago Motors as headline sponsors provided a huge relief to the rally organisers. He said the rally now called Sarago Motors Zambia International Motor Rally, not only counts towards the Zambia Rally Championship but is also the decider of the African Rally Championship.
This year’s Sarago Motors Zambia International Motor Rally will be flagged off from Radisson Blue on October 21, and will finish on October 23 at the R&G Arena in Lusaka.
