NEW HERITAGE PARTY CALLS ON ZAMBIANS TO HELP PAMELA CHISUMPA AND THE OTHER LADIES SETTLE FROM TRAUMA

-

THE New Heritage Party is happy to learn that Pamela Chisumpa and 12 others that had been abducted have final ly been rescued.

As a party we would like to commend and thank Robby Chitambo and alert neigh bours who acted swiftly to help the young women escape from the captors.

However, we are concerned with the following: 1. Psychological and emotion al stress that the ladies have and are still going through, and call on Zambians, espe cially those able to conduct counseling, to render assis tance to them. 2. The abductors are just youths. We have been concerned with and been stressing the urgency of ad dressing this time bomb of the youth. An idle mind is the workshop of the devil so goes the old adage.

We are hopeful that the au thorities will put in place measures to ensure the safety of the abducted ladies, their families and the hero neighbourhood witnesses who are potentially at risk as those criminals may have accomplices. In addition, the Police Service must thor oughly investigate this matter so that not only the culprits that have been caught, but others that may have been in volved, are brought to book and we do not see such occur rences in our nation in future.

As we approach the Nation al Day of Prayer on October 18, we call on the clergy, to pray for our country and the rescued ladies because what the nation has witnessed through social media, of a coffin and black magic artefacts in the hostage home, should not find its place in a Christian Nation.
