MONZE COMMENCES FORMULATING THE 8NDP IMPLEMENTATION
MONZE has started the process of formulating the Implementation Plan (IP) for the Eighth National Development Plan (8NDP).
A special two-day District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting has been called with an objective of guiding the various government agencies as well as stakeholders at district level in formulating the district implementation plan which will be used in implementing the National Development Plan.
Speaking when she officially opened the meeting at Monzeyh Civic Centre, Monze District Administrative Officer Gorret Baalo said, the development of the implementation plan must be in line with the general principles of the planning and budgeting process as stipulated in the budgeting and planning act number (1) one of 2020 section 3.
Ms Baalo called on participants to ensure that their inputs are based on wider consultations, saying doing so would ensure that all submissions are carried on board.
She said with consensus among stakeholders, the aspirations of having a district implementation plan which is responsive to the development needs of the people will be realised.
Ms Baalo noted that actualising the said aspirations the district would need to strengthen consultative and collaborative partnerships among government bodies and stakeholders.
The Special DDCC meeting is in line with the National Planning and Budgeting Act No 1 of 2022 under Section 25 which stipulated that provincial and district level implementation plans be developed within two months after the launch of the National Development Plan.
The Eighth National Development Plan is a policy document that sets out the country’s strategic development direction, priorities and implementation strategy for the period 2022 to 2026.
