FAZ FUTSAL: ‘AUTO’ DISLODGE BUFFALOES

FOOTBALL Associatio­n of Zambia Premier Futsal League (FAZ/PFL) champions Automotive Futsal Academy have dislodged Green Buffaloes at the summit of the Futsal League table after beating Monze George 6-2 in a Week-5 fixture played at Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Automotive who are unbeaten after five games propelled to 13 points after their latest win over struggling Monze George who are yet to taste any win having lost all their League games.

Automotive are now on par with second-placed Kitwe Bullets who humiliated Siavonga Beetles 11-4 in a Week-5 fixture played over the weekend.

“The quality of the league is increasing year by year. This is a fact and the gap between the first six teams is closing up and I’m happy that we are facing challenges as defending champions after we recorded a draw in one of the games something that didn’t happen last season,” Automotive FC coach Andrea Cristofore­tti said after the win.

“Overall I’m happy to engage with such problems because we need to find a solution, this is telling us that all the other teams are really growing at a fast pace and this is something everyone has noticed and me being a national team coach this is exciting,” he added.

Meanwhile, Kafue Saints handed Green Buffaloes their first loss of the season following a 4-3 beating in a tightly contested week-5 fixture.

Saints however maintained fourth position with 12 points on par with Buffaloes who dropped to third on the league table.

In other fixtures played over the weekend, Lusaka Avengers moved to nine points after beating Chipata Boys 3-2 while Warriors picked their second win of the season following a 5-2 beating of Mudi Stars.
