‘DISBAND UPND MILITIA’

- By KALOBWE BWALYA

THE emergence of a United Party for National Development (UPND) militia group is a source of concern and should be dismantled immediately, Holy Trinity Pentecostal Assemblies, Reverend Mubanga Mutale, has said.

In an interview, Rev Mutale called on the police to quickly effect an arrest before the cadres put the country on fire.

Rev Mutale said it was sad that despite the UPND cadres exhibiting their hooliganism on social media, the minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Mr Jack Mwiimbu, has opted to remain silent.

He said it was sad that the authority has decided to remain mute despite many concerns from the general public, which he said should be heeded.

Rev Mutale said if the UPND cadres are left unchecked without taking action there would be anarchy in the nation.

“The UPND should tame their cadres to allow the police to discharge their duties failure to which democracy is dying slowly because everyone is afraid of being killed,” said Rev Mutale.

And Rev Mutale said there is need to let the police operate freely unlike the current situation where a UPND cadre is urging the police to consult them before they discharged their duties.

He said such acts were undemocratic and unZambian as there was no connection between the party and government business. He added that it was sad that the UPND have decided not to listen to the concerns of many Zambians which would cost them in the near future. Rev Mutale was commenting on the video that has gone viral where UPND cadres from Kalumbila have formed a group calling itself UPND FBI.
