ZAMBIAN PRODUCTS SHOULD BE ON SHELVES ABROAD, TRADE ATTACHÉS URGED

- By NAMO PHIRI

BUY Zed has called on trade attachés at Zambian embassies around the world to work hard and ensure that Zambian products find themselves on the shelves of foreign markets.

Buy Zed founder, Evans Ngoma, has said efforts were needed to ensure that trade attachés lobbied for market and business for the Zambian business sector abroad.

Mr Ngoma has implored tourism attachés in various

Zambian missions to emulate President Hakainde Hichilema who has been marketing Zambia including her products and ensure that the country’s finished products were found on their countries of designation shelves.

“Efforts need to be made to ensure that our products find themselves on the market. President Hakainde Hichilema as the chief marketing officer of our country has been working very hard to attract investors. It is our duty also to join him and those that have been given the privilege to serve as diplomats in various missions should endeavour to market Zambian products so that the can find space on foreign shelves,” Mr Ngoma said

Mr Ngoma said Zambian products being marketed in foreign countries could help boost business and bring economic development to the country.

He said marketing the country’s business abroad would also be beneficial to the government as there would be increased revenue collected. Mr Ngoma said a trade desk in a foreign country was therefore pivotal in bringing investment to the country in order to spur economic growth.

He said there was need for linkages to be made in order to help in bringing in foreign investment through the trade desk.

Mr Ngoma said there was serious need for the trade attachés to do serious marketing in the respective countries where they had been attached.
