TRAINING CENTRE WINS KUDOS
CHIKANKATA District Commissioner, Timothy Chipolyonga has implored Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre (KGRTC) to continue being a centre of excellence and a hub of knowledge.
Mr Chipolyonga has urged management to ensure that the training centre remains the hub for knowledge and skills development for the energy sector in the region.
Mr Chipolyonga noted that the training centre is key in providing human capital development.
He said that over the years the centre has been offering specialised training to students both locally and beyond.
“I wish to encourage Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre to continue being the hub for knowledge and skills development for the energy sector within Zambia and beyond the borders of Southern Africa.” he said.
Mr Chipolyonga said this when he launched the collaboration between Kafue Gorge Regional Training Centre and the USAID Southern Africa Energy Programme (SAEP), a power Africa initiative which is meant to share training materials and resources with the Southern African sector.
He also encouraged students to utilise the learning guides and other materials provided on the website.
“It is therefore very inspiring to see this collaboration between KGRTC and SAEP that will see people from all walks of life having access to training and workshop materials on energy through the KGRTC website,” Mr Chipolyonga said.
And speaking at the same event SAEP representative Nachi Majoe expressed gratitude that the learning materials are finally being shared with relevant players in the energy sector.
