PF CADRE NABBED, DRIVEN TO SESHEKE

- By ROGERS KALERO

POLICE in Nakonde have allegedly arrested Patriotic Front (PF) Nakonde Constituency Secretary Fredrick Siame and driven him to Sesheke for allegedly defaming Sesheke Member of Parliament Romeo Kang'ombe.

It is alleged that the Police in Nakonde received the command from the ruling party to have Mr Siame arrested and transported to Sesheke, a situation which has been condemned by some sections of society including a Kitwe-based political analyst John Sichangwa. PF member Chanoda Frackson Ngwira confirmed the incident and wondered since when did these office bearers and party members of the UPND have the audacity to command the Police to burn national resources in regards to fuel and a vehicle in transporting the alleged suspect from Nakonde to Sesheke.

"I mean where is the sense? We have no drugs in hospitals, no reagents and many other things in our hospitals yet we can be this wreckless to abuse power? Police are misusing national resources in wanting to please party cadres and some MPs by transporting individuals from far flung areas to destinations they never committed those alleged crimes.

Mr Ngwira said Police were quick to find resources to transport those arrested on politically motivated charges yet fail to mobilise resources to rescue girls who were abducted for several months.

"Police are able to find money for such politically motivated cases and fail to find money to secure communities across the country; where is the morality? Today we have MPs who command the Police to arrest and decide where the suspect should be transported to. Mr. Siame committed the alleged offence in Nakonde, why transport him to Sesheke? Is it because the MP in question is from Sesheke?
