- By SPORTS REPORTER

ZAMBIA 15s women's team coach John Chibamba says he is cheered up by not having any injury concerns among the players in Camp ahead of Africa Women's Cup qualifiers in Uganda.

Zambia , Kenya, and host Uganda are expected to square it off in a Tri-Nation Group B contest from October 25-29 in Kampala, with winner to progress to the 2023 Rugby Africa Women's Cup First Division.

In an interview yesterday, after morning training session, Chibamba said the team was on course to gain the required fitness levels.

"As for now, we don't have any injury concerns among the players and the fitness drills we are giving the girls are working. So we don't have any worries on those lines, we are on track. So far so good. We started with a lot of fitness drills which I feel we are getting there day by day," said.

Chibamba said he loved the energies the players were giving in the training sessions and that the morale was high among the players.

He said Kenya and Uganda were not going to be easy opponents because they were big rugby teams in African rugby.

"The morale is high in camp. There is a lot of zeal amongst the girls, we hope by the end of the week we would have worked on a few things we need to," he said.

Chibamba , who is Green Eagles Rugby Club team coach, said he was confident of a good showing at the competition in Kampala.

A 30 member team is currently in camp at OYDC - Zambia in Lusaka where they are going to spend 10 days before departure for Kampala.

Chibamba said the team had been showing appetite and desire to win.

He said the Zambian team had a good mix of youth and experienced players hence being upbeat of a good outing.
