SICHONE RECALLS SUNZU
…Patson, Fashion and Lubambo lead Chipolopolo squad for Israel friendly
ZAMBIA national team stand-in coach Moses Sichone has summoned 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winning defender Stoppilla Sunzu in his 24-member provisional squad to face Israel in an international friendly during slated for November 17 in Israel.
Sichone has also summoned under-20 Cosafa winning goalkeeper Jeban Tembo who was key to helping Zambia qualify for the last qualifying stage of the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
Tembo will compete with Sekhukhune United shot stopper Toaster Nsabata and Lawrence Mulenga who have also made the cut in the 24-member squad.
Sichone has also recalled Czech Republic-based Benson Sakala and Kondwani Chiboni in squad being led by Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala, Lubambo Musonda, Emmanuel Banda, Kings Kangwa and Frankie Musonda who are among the experienced high-profile call-ups.
The Simba SC duo of Clatous Chama, and his on-fire teammate Moses Phiri are also in the squad which also has Emmanuel Banda, Rodrick Kabwe and Klings Kangwa.
Zambia will play Israel at the Petach Tikva Stadium and will use the match as part of preparations for the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that resume in March next year.
Zambia will play Lesotho in back-toback fixtures in March as part of their Group H engagements.
