DO NOT RELAX AFTER RECENT VICTORIES, UPND LEADERS TOLD

- By NAMO PHIRI

LET us not relax after coming out victorious in most of the areas in the recently held by-elections, Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe has urged his colleagues.

Mr Sikazwe said this was because the party had many other competitors such as the Socialist Party (SP) and the Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) that they needed to out win for them to maintain power even after 2026.

He said leaders needed to pull up their socks and work harder in their different areas where they were assigned to ensure that the party maintained public confidence.

“The fact that we have come out victorious in these areas during the by-elections does not mean that we must relax, this is the time to pull up our socks and work for the people because there are many other parties that are a threat apart from the PF,” said Mr Sikazwe

He said leaders, especially those in ministerial positions needed to remember their people back home and give them attention in as much it was difficult to divide time as a minister needed a lot of attention.

Mr Sikazwe said the fact that some electorates in certain areas were complaining about their Members of Parliament especially ministers being absent in their constituencies was a source of worry that needed to be addressed.

And Mr Sikazwe advised the PF to stop being crybabies and accept defeat in the just ended by-elections.

He said the just ended by-elections was a clear sign that the people had made their choice after looking at the policies that the UPND had put in place.

He said the PF should just accept the fact that they are a dead party and move on because the people had rejected them.
