Stop being vindictive, PF tells UPND vindictive

- By ROGERS KALERO

THE UPND should not waste time persecuting opposition politicians who are critical of its leadership, but should strive to regain the lost confidence of the majority poverty stricken Zambians who had hope and confidence that the New Dawn administration would tackle poverty and food insecurity,’’ the Patriotic Front (PF) has said

PF Copperbelt Media Director Munalula Moola said the new dawn should not get worried that the PF had continued to be united and strong despite losing the August 12, 2021 elections, but instead think of how best they would regain the confidence which they have lost within a year of forming government

In an interview, Mr Moola said the new dawn administration had lost the confidence of the majority poverty stricken Zambians because of its pedestrian leadership and failure to distribute agricultural inputs on time

He said apart from failure to distribute agricultural inputs on time, the new dawn administration had also reduced on a number of beneficiaries to receive the agricultural inputs under FISP.

“UPND has lost the support it had during campaigns in the August 12, 2022 elections because Zambians have realised that the UPND or is it the new dawn administration campaigned on lies and deceit. The UPND has now lamentably failed to make sense of any of its campaign promises because they were blatant lies

“So, in trying to divert the attention of its shameful lies and failures which include the failure to distribute agricultural inputs on time, the UPND is channeling its efforts towards persecuting political rivals. It is petty and shameful for any government to persecute political rivals when it has failed to distribute agricultural inputs on time,’’ Mr Moola said

Mr Moola said the UPND had lost support from the majority poverty stricken Zambians within a year of being voted into government because it had a run-of-the-mill leadership which was not inspirational.

The PF Copperbelt media boss said UPND chairman for Mines Percy Chanda is a job seeker whose statements against the PF are aimed at impressing his masters so that he is rewarded with a job.

Mr Moola said it was sad for Mr Chanda that despite issuing inoperable statements against the PF, his masters were not listening to him and chances of him being rewarded with a job were getting slim every day

Mr Moola was reacting to Mr Chanda’s statement that PF was finished and no Zambian would like to be associated with a finished party like PF

But, in response, Mr Moola said PF had become more popular after losing the 2021 elections because Zambians had realized that it was a better party than UPND which campaigned on lies and deceit

Mr Moola said every right thinking Zambians knows that the UPND had become unpopular within a short time because it was an incompetent political with no vision for unity and national development

“The problem with Mr Chanda is a job seeker singing praises for his masters hoping to be rewarded with a job, but unfortunately that job is not coming his way. When you are singing praises to be given a job, you even talk nonsense to impress your masters. Yes, you don’t talk about the reality on the ground, no.

“As you can hear him saying PF is finished. When you ask a fair, objective and mature person, he or she will tell you which party is finished between the PF and UPND? Honestly, which party is finished? The one which failed to distribute agricultural inputs on time and the one which was distributing agricultural inputs as early as June? Chanda is talking nonsense,’’ he said
