KALABA STYLE OF POLITICS GIVES CHURCH HOPE

... Church says he’s introducing decency in Zambian politics

-

WE have a lot of hope that you and your new party are introducing decency in politics in Zambia, an Ndola-based clergyman has told Citizens First (CF) president Harry Kalaba.

And Mr Kalaba says he and his party will not engage in politics of name calling because his focus is helping Zambians to live better lives and advise the government.

Pastor Lawrence Lama of Ndola Baptist Church said so far he had not heard Mr Kalaba engage in character assassination and encouraged him to continue with the same style of politics.

He was speaking when Mr

Kalaba paid a courtesy call on him on Sunday after attending a church service in the company of CF national and Copperbelt provincial leaders.

"We will be praying for you. We have a lot of hope that you'll bring decent politics in Zambia. So far, we haven't heard you insult anyone and you should not change," Pastor Lama said.

He said the Church was hopeful that Mr Kalaba would not change and join in the politics of name calling as had become the culture in Zambian politics.

"It is possible to do politics without insulting anyone. Zambians are no longer interested. We want to hear what you politicians will do for the people," COURT 7

Pastor Lama NEWS said.

And delivering a sermon during a church service earlier, Pastor Lama urged Mr Kalaba to always have love for the people of Zambia if he was to serve them well.

"Ba Kalaba [Mr Kalaba], love the people of Zambia. Do not just say nice things to them when you want something from them. It is a good thing to love them from your heart," Pastor Lama said.

And Mr Kalaba said he and his party would not engage in politics of name calling or insults because his focus was helping citizens to live better lives.

"We shall not engage in the politics of calling others names or insults, but talk about our party and how it intends to work

for the people. I have never insulted anyone and that's the way I will continue to do politics," he said.

Pastor Lama later prayed for Mr Kalaba and his entourage.
