Mr Banda said the securing of the 100 bursaries support was the continuation of the programme he has been rolling out to vulnerable youths but deserving youths in the various parts of the constituency.

“I wish to inform you that I have once again managed to secure another 100 Bursaries support for the vulnerable youths in Chimwemwe Constituency for the 2023 Academic Year at ZIBSIP in Kitwe. This is a continuation of our bursary support programme we have been rolling out to our vulnerable but deserving youths in Chimwemwe. This is also in line with our commitment and promises we made during our campaigns to ensure that we lift the living standards of our residents through the provision of quality education and good health care in Chimwemwe” Mr Banda said.

Mr Banda said this was also against the backdrop of the strong belief that education is the best equaliser between the privileged and the underprivileged in our society.

He said the requirements include that they must be Zambian and in possession of a Green National Registration Card (NRC) and In possession of a full Grade 12 Certificate or GCE five (5) O - Levels or equivalent Grade 9 Certificate.

“They must possess an Acceptance Letter from ZIBSIP. Returning Students are not eligible to apply. They should also meet the vulnerability criteria from the Social Welfare” he said.

He said Courses available were general hospitality, Civic education, Mathematics, Accounts, Secretarial, Business administration, Food production, Procurement and supply.
