From own Party, Miles told

…Bowman Lusambo says Miles Sampa has caused enough problems in the PF, asks him to resign and form his own political party if he feels popular

- By NATION REPORTER

BOWMAN Lusambo has told Miles Sampa to form his own party instead of working to disintegrate the Patriotic Front (PF) which is working hard to save the country from being wrecked by the UPND.

Mr Lusambo, the former Lusaka Province Minister says Mr Sampa’s rebellious acts were meant to cause confusion in the PF so that the former ruling party could fail to provide the necessary checks and balances to the UPND government.

Mr Lusambo said if Mr Sampa was of the feeling that he was such a popular politician, he should consider forming his own political party instead of working to auction the PF to his sponsors.

He said it was not the first time that Mr Sampa had rebelled against the PF, recalling that soon after the death of President Michael Sata, the Matero lawmaker attempted to cause confusion in the PF to the extent that he decided to hold his own convention where he was elected president of the former ruling party.

Mr Lusambo said he was of the belief that Mr Sampa’s rebellious acts could be transactional whose motive was to ensure the PF should suffer from internal strife and disintegrate.

“I want to challenge Miles Sampa to form his own political party rather than trying to destroy the

PF which we are not going to allow because PF is still the party of choice for most Zambians. The PF shall remain strong and no amount of schemes to destabilize the party shall succeed,” Mr Lusambo said.

He said that the party was bigger than an individual and that they would not allow anyone to cause confusion. Mr Lusambo stated that it was unacceptable for Mr Sampa to start maligning former President Edgar Lungu who had twice given Mr Sampa chance to reform and serve in government.

He said that he and PF chairperson for publicity Raphael Nakacinda had the experience in MMD where they rushed to go for a convention which saw the ushering in of Dr Nevers Mumba which was nothing but a miscarried political decision.

He said he did not want to brag but that he and Mr Nakacinda were good mobilisers, claiming that the the person the two would endorse as PF presidential candidate would definitely become the president of the country.

“Mr Nakacinda, Mr Brian Mundubile, including Bowman Lusambo have the experience from the MMD so we understand the dynamics that is why we do not want to rush this process,” Mr Lusambo said.

Mr Lusambo said that Mr Sampa needed to sober up and emulate the likes of Mr Chishimba Kambwili and even Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba who were very mute despite being political heavyweights because they knew that the party was bigger than individuals and did not want to cause problems for the party.

Mr Lusambo charged that he did not understand the panic from Mr Sampa and urged him to leave if he really wanted to be president of a political party.

He called on Mr Sampa to accord Dr Lungu the respect he deserved because he was a very intelligent and caring president who worked very tirelessly for the people of Zambia.
