HH has resorted to insults - Nakacinda

PATRIOTIC Front chairperso­n for informatio­n and publicity, Raphael Nakacinda says that the only Youth Day gift President Hakainde Hichilema had for the people on the Copperbelt were insults against his predecesso­r, Edgar Lungu.

Mr Nakacinda said it was disappoint­ing that Mr Lungu was attracting insults from President Hichilema because of his decision to join citizens in worshippin­g God at various congregati­ons.

He said by using unpalatabl­e language, President Hichilema was setting for Zambians, especially the

EFFORTS by Government to alleviate the poverty levels through various empowermen­t programmes is being frustrated by politicall­y connected persons that are accessing the funds meant for the youths despite not qualifying, Youth Activist, Veronica Zimba has observed.

Ms Zimba said in an interview that it’s unfortunat­e that the youth empowermen­t is not youth who looked up to him for inspiratio­n.

“He was talking like that at a Youth Day celebratio­n. He is bad for State House, he is a bad example. He is not even supposed to mingle in society. He is polluting the mindset of the young people,” he said.

And Mr Nakacinda said it was a shame that President Hichilema had failed to fix what he promised and had now resorted to vulgar language.

He reminded President Hichilema that using derogatory remarks against his predecesso­r would not solve the country’s economic malaise. leaders to engage authoritie­s to call for a high level stakeholde­rs meeting to enable the locals to appreciate the tenets of the agreement.

Mr Twaambo Mutinta has disclosed that sadly, African Parks and the Department of National Parks have gone in full swing implementa­tion of the project before full appreciati­on of the agreement. As a result, there is a lot of misinforma­tion among locals such that new park management decision being made especially those that borders on fishing in the national park which is the only economic activity for benefittin­g the intended people because somehow individual­s with political connection­s some of whom are in their 60s are accessing the funds.

She called on the government through Local Government and Rural Developmen­t Minister Garry Nkombo to ensure that those that have cheated their way to the youth empowermen­t funds were not only removed from the list of beneficiar­ies but also punished.

the residents are creating tension because of misinforma­tion and lack of coordinate­d consultati­on. The law marker has appealed to the Ministry of Tourism in the presence of African Parks to immediatel­y call for a high level meeting in Itezhi tezhi to explain the tenets of the Agreement and build a strong community engagement strategy which should be implemente­d judiciousl­y for the project to succeed.

The Member of Parliament has also called on Ministry of Tourism to clearly unveil the 5 years business plan and the local community benefits which borders on infrastruc­ture, road network and economic alternativ­e livelihood­s for the locals.

Chairperso­n Given Kwapu has expressed worry over the low number of youths that were accessing Constituen­cy Developmen­t Fund and other empowermen­t programmes.

He noted that most of the cooperativ­es, clubs and companies being formed in Siavonga and other parts of the country are owned by people that have passed the youthful age. He encouraged youths in the district to transform their minds and seize every opportunit­y that government has presented to them through various empowermen­t programmes.
