WARRIORS, MUDI STARS SEEK REDEMPTION

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

AFTER losing the first sets of the FAZ semifinal fixtures last weekend, Warriors and Mudi Stars will seek redemption when they face Kitwe Bullets and Automotive in today’s second sets at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Mudi Stars will seek to recover from the 5-1 humiliation in the first set to have a chance of progressing to the finals of the FAZ Premier Futsal League.

A win for Automotive will send them through to the finals where they have a chance to defend their title against the winners between Warriors and Kitwe Bullets.

Auto will however be without their head coach Andrea Christoforetti who was handed a red card in the last fixture. Cristoforetti will however be allowed to lead his charges from the terraces to ensure that the team achieve its objective of reaching the finals.

Meanwhile, Warriors will fight to reverse the 4-3 defeat recorded in the first set of the semis when they take on Kitwe Bullets who are one step into the finals after last weekend’s win.

Despite having won the first set, Kitwe Bullets coach Witson Nyirenda knows that it will not be a walk in the park against Warriors who are determined to get a win which will push the semifinal clash to the final set as the semis are being played in sets of three.

“Our aim is to reach the finals and the win gives us the confidence going into the second set but we know that it is not going to be easy. Warriors will come back harder because of the fact that they lost the first game,” Nyirenda said.

Meanwhile, the National Division Futsal League enters week-8 this weekend with the league leaders Metro Lilanda dating Livingstone Pirates while second-placed Mthunzi FC will face veterans.

Blue Bombers will date LM Academy who defeated Mthunzi 4-3 last weekend to move to fourth on the National Division one Futsal league table.
