KITWE BULLETS REACH FAZ FUTSAL LEAGUE FINALS

- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

KITWE Bullets will meet defending champions Automotive Futsal Academy in the finals of the FAZ Premier Futsal League after beating Warriors 4-3 in the third and final set of the semifinals played on Tuesday night at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Bullets beat Warriors 4-3 in the first semifinal set before losing the second set 6-4 to move the semifinal clash to the wire.

In the deciding set, the Witson Nyirenda-drilled Bullets overpowered their rivals to reach the finals for the first time in three seasons.

Nyirenda has commended his boys for fighting hard to achieve their objective of playing in the finals.

Nyirenda said he was proud of his boys for showing character during the whole 2022/2023 Futsal League season where they recorded two defeats and three draws.

"This has been one of our best seasons in the Premier League and I must say that I'm very proud of my boys they showed that we needed it the most. It was a tough game. Warriors gave us stiff competition, they played well in all the games but I'm glad my boys pushed hard to achieve our aim which we had set to reach the finals," Nyirenda said.

Asked if Bullets was scared of the defending champions Automotive who stunned Mudi Stars to reach the finals, Nyirenda said; "We are not scared of Automotive. They might have beaten us in the last two meetings but the final will be a different ball game."

"We will prepare for the final. We know it is not going to be easy but we’ll fight hard to have a chance of winning our maiden PFL trophy," Nyirenda said.

The finals of the FAZ Premier Futsal League will be played in three sets with the first set scheduled for next Saturday at the Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.
