- By ROGERS KALERO

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has continued to place a high premium on ensuring that Traditional leaders throughout the country enjoy minimum standard of life by providing necessities such as vehicles and other equally important utilities to make life ease, Lufwanyama District Commissioner (DC) Justine Mwalikwa has said.

Mr Mwalikwa said, in ensuring that the Traditional Leaders enjoy the minimum standard of life, President Hichilema has placed more attention on those in the Corporate World to come to terms of assisting the traditional leaders in any way possible.

Mr Mwalikwa was speaking on Thursday, when Grizzly Group of Companies donated a Toyota Hilux Double-cab worth K900,000 to Chieftainess Shimukunani of Lufwanyama District to help ease logistical challenges faced by the traditional leader when conducting Royal tours of Developmental nature in her Chiefdom.

On Saturday Grizzly Mining Limited handed over K100,000 Cheque to Mansansa West Primary School in Luanshya District for the construction of the 1 x 2 class room block which collapsed a long time ago.

Mr Mwalikwa said Grizzly Mining Limited has proven that they were an all-weatherfriend in not only Lufwanyama District but throughout the country because of their robust Corporate Social Responsibility.

"Most of us have benefited in one way or another by through the giving hand of Grizzly Mining Limited as their deeds speak for themselves. This is a challenge to other cooperating partners within the district and indeed countrywide to emulate what Grizzly Mining Limited has been doing to the communities in which they conduct their business,'' Mr Mwalikwa said.

And speaking earlier, Barbara Shilengwe Kafwilo, General Manager of Pridegems Limited, a member of Grizzly Group of Companies, said the donations and other Corporate Social Responsibility programmes were being made possible because of the enabling environment in the mining sector in general and the general sub-sector in particular created by the President Hakainde Hichilema and his new dawn administration.

Ms Kafwilo said her company was optimistic that government shall be able to attract more investment in the country which would result in creation of employment opportunities for the people.

"Notably, Zambia has a competitive advantage because the country is endowed with massive natural resources and is haven of peace and stability. Our Geographical location within the African continent also is an asset which allows us to position ourselves as a trade corridor and investment destination within the sub-region and beyond.
