PF sympathizers are Zambians, deserve to be offered government jobs

- By OLIVER SAMBOKO

DEMANDS by some UPND supporters to have all those suspected to be PF sympathizers in government fired is not only irrational and retrogressive but also against the spirit of good governance, Kawana Mwangala has said.

Mr Mwangala said while it could be true that there are individuals in the civil service who were loyal and sympathetic to the former ruling party, it was unfair for the new dawn government to continue purging individuals from government position on mere suspicions that they were leaking information to the PF.

Mr Mwangala, the 2021 Patriotic Front (PF) losing candidate for Chirundu Constituency said the reasons being advanced for such a barbaric measure was to a large extent, selfish and confrontational by those advocating discrimination, which he said undermined the spirit of one Zambia, one nation.

He said the UPND should remember that during there time in the opposition, they also had moles in the PF government who used to leak information the party.

“The fear that they are people in government who are loyal to PF should not be there because the UPND spent 23 years in opposition and therefore know very well that what they used to do to their friends in government,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Mwangala has called on the UPND government to apologize to Zambians for failing to keep campaign promises on job creation of jobs and reduction of the cost of living.

He said President Hichilema and UPND Government should redeem themselves by doing the right thing and apologize for the many lies they told the citizens.

Mr Mwangala said the people are still asking about jobs creation and reduction of prices of mealie meal and other essential goods the UPND promised during the 23 years in opposition.

He said it clear from the way the UPND government is changing goal post on the things they promised the people of Zambia that the party come to power without any idea on how to run the affairs of the country.
