NATIONAL MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP A SUCCESS
ZAMBIA Motor Sports Association (ZMSA) Commissioner MX Northern province, Rolinda Pinetown has described Round-1 of the National Motocross Championship held over the weekend at Mindolo Track in Kitwe as a success.
Pinetown said there were no major injuries recorded during the championship which attracted over 30 entries.
“I’m proud of how things went. The championship was a success though we didn’t have as many riders as we anticipated, but it was still an event we could put up, the organisers did an outstanding job of ensuring that a lot of details were all cared for,” Pinetown said.
“We didn’t have any major injuries, so it was a safe and successful event. Everything was in place from my point of view.
It was exciting we had a good turn out from our fans. The cheering was phenomenal and the prize giving ceremony was exciting,” she said.
Pinetown hailed sponsors such as Spectra Oil Corporation Limited who were the main sponsors for supporting the event and ensuring that it was a success.
She encouraged more riders to register for the next championship which will be held on April 2, 2023 in Lusaka.
“Round two will be held on April 2 in Lusaka. I encourage the riders to come and participate. Our fans, our sponsors, we have a big event coming up in August and Zambia needs to be represented. Our riders will need to shine at this event and they need to come out now and do that,” Pinetown said.
