GIVE HH TIME TO PROVE HIMSELF - KAPYANGA
…Calling for early elections is not a solution , President Hichilema should be reminded of his campaign promises and held accountable in 2026
MPIKA Member of Parliament (MP), Francis Kapyanga has urged Zambians to allow President Hakainde Hichilema time to govern the country so that he can be reminded and held accountable for his campaign promises in the next Presidential and General elections scheduled for 2026.
Mr Kapyanga said in an interview with Millennium TV that Zambians should be more patient with President Hichilema so that he can prove his inefficiency.
“You know he [President Hichilema] pushed this for him to be President for more than 23 years and whilst in opposition for 23 years, he has had no plan on how to govern the nation. He has been given a chance and within one-year- eight months, he has proved that he is not capable of governing. We can give him more time to just prove more that he is very incapable of govern,” Mr Kapyanga said.
He said Zambians should not relent on reminding President Hichilema of his campaign promises when he was in opposition. Mr Kapyanga said calling for early elections was not a solution but that Zambians should use this opportunity to judge Mr Hichilema’s performance in the 2026 elections.
“President Hichilema did not realise that there will be a time when the Zambian people will give him an opportunity to govern because he was used that every election, he ends up at the Constitutional Court.
“He has been given an opportunity to govern and he must be reminded of all his campaign promises so that come 2026, he must be ready to hand over power to the PF and that is all we want,” Mr Kapyanga said.
