ZAMBIA HOSTS UGANDAN FUNNY MAN TOMORROW
ALL roads lead to Lusaka Music Club tomorrow evening for a special Easter Comedy Festival featuring Ugandan comedian Patrick Idringi Salvado famously known as Ombokolo.
The comedian, actor, master of ceremonies, radio personality and engineer arrived in the country on Monday for this special show to be held at East Park Mall's Music Club starting at 18:00 hours .
"The Man from Ombokolo" as he is fondly called will be supported by top Zambian comedians such as Bwana Njombe, GC Comedy, Inspector Pamela, Gabbi and Patrick Saulos.
This event tomorrow is powered by MuviTV, The Planner and Fanike Media with tickets available at Quicket. Ombokolo was first runner up in the MultiChoice Africa organised comedy competition, Standup Uganda in 2009. He reached the semi finals of the World's Funniest Person competition in 2016 and was nominated in 2017 and 2018 in the Savannah Comic Choice Awards as the Pan African Comic of the Year. For this reason, he is sometimes referred to as Africa's funniest man.
Meanwhile, the show night will be spiced with music from the folk lengend musician Mumba Yachi, whose sets will be interludes in between acts.
"Working with Salvado we intend to re-open opportunities for our local comedians to penetrate the east African market. These will be chosen from the workshops we will host as we take advantage of his visit into the country. Through partnership with the Comedian Association (COAZ) and the National Arts Council this will present a big opportunity of value addition to the arts industry," organisers said.
