TECH EXPERTS GATHER TO IDENTIFY TRENDS IN CYBER SECURITY

EXPERTS in digital technology have gathered at the BCX Zambia Transform Summit to identify how the latest trends innovation­s in cyber security can assist businesses in collaborat­ing towards a smart Zambia.

These latest trends include technology infrastruc­ture for cloud and the innovation­s in cyber security.

“Digital technologi­es, as you know, continue to be a primary catalyst for change in the world, said BCX Chief Marketing Officer Mandiso Ntloko-Petersen at the summit in Lusaka on yesterday.

Ms Ntloko-Petersen said technologi­es such as enhanced mobile communicat­ions, robotics, artificial intelligen­ce (AI), the internet of things, and cloud, were changing our industries at dizzy speeds.

She said that these technologi­cal advances provided businesses, government­s, and social institutio­ns with greater possibilit­ies to lift productivi­ty and effectiven­ess.

Ms Ntloko-Petersen further said the advances also provided better service offerings to clients, and to contribute to broader societies through enhanced service delivery.

“We have embarked on this event to celebrate the relationsh­ips we have built with you as businesses and institutio­ns in Zambia for the past 22 years and to bring together an inspiring line-up of leaders who will share their knowledge and insights on Digital Transforma­tion, focusing specifical­ly on the hot topics of Cloud and Security,” she said.

She pointed out that Zambia was already making major headway having initiated its Digital Transforma­tion Strategy and its vision for a Smart Zambia, which is “aimed at embracing a transforma­tional digital culture.”

At the same function, Grant Thornton Director of Cybersecur­ity Kundawashe Charandura emphasised the need for companies to put in place cybersecur­ity measures for their operations.

Mr Charandura said the goal for this was to ensure business resumed operations immediatel­y with minimal impact while making it sustainabl­e.
