Work on the Zimba-Kasumbalesa road progressing very well

-

IN our ambitious journey to make Mufulira a transit town to mitigate the 100 years of over dependence on mining, we engaged ZNS using the 2022 CDF to upgrade the 15km Zimba-Nsato Road to an all-weather gravel road.

The road will not only reduce the distance between Mufulira and Kasumbalesa from 125km to 45 km but also improve access to the Nsato and Mindela farm blocs.

If we want ZNS to build more roads, we need to give them more business for them to build capacity to do more works.

We are very hopeful that the road will be done before June so that our farmers can use it as they start to harvest their crops.

We in Kankoyo are not afraid to try new things.

Mr Mabeta Dear Editor

MINISTRY of Information and Media Director Spokesperson Thabo Kawana need to tone down and focus more on being professional as a civil servant.

He needs to realise that he is a public servant and senior in a line ministry that is sensitive. His careless statements recently witnessed may dent the new dawn administration politically.

He has been accused of verbally attacking former diplomats for no apparent reason. Further we have noted with concern his disrespect against the former head of State.

He is too junior to be addressing the former President in the manner he has been doing it. Let the Chief Government spokesperson or the UPND spokesperson be the ones to speak on matters involving the former President depending on the matter at hand, otherwise leave the former head of State to enjoy his time with anyone he desires covered under freedoms of association and expression.

Mr Kawana is being seen as a very vocal, mouthful and sarcastic soul who need to be kept in check.

Should he continue with his attitude, we suggest he be relegated to political party media affairs department for him to concentrate on politicking and let someone skillful and steady from the UPND be appointed as Media Director in his place.

Let’s not forget how that he has been carelessly vocal from his days in the MMD, PF, MDC and now in Government under the Alliance partner arrangement.

Mr Kawana is being perceived as a very ungrateful loose cannon who need some counsel.

His careless statements may give an impression that he is doing things with the blessing of the line minister which may negatively impact on the image of the principal.

Its statements by the likes of Mr Kawana that are attracting public sympathy for the former President.

Further, Mr Kawana has been recently accused of uttering the following unfortunate words:

“If you want you can now write that Govt calls Brian Hapunda and Bangwe Navile dogs and thieves (Ba Imbwa Masholi) you are so uncouth, you little idiots”

We hope this is not true.
