TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CDF SPONSORED SKILLS TRAINING SCHEMES, WUSAKILE MP URGES YOUTHS

- By ROGERS KALERO

WUSAKILE Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Pavyuma Kalobo has cautioned youths against wasting opportunities in skills training which has been made possible by the expanded Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Mr Kalobo says he is a disciplinarian and will not allow youths who have been given opportunities to train in various skills under the CDF to involve themselves in any form of indiscipline.

Mr Kalobo, who recently sent off 91 youths to train in operating Heavy Equipment at Nirvana Business Solutions in Mufulira, said youths who had the opportunity to train in various skills, should exhibit high levels of discipline and hard work, warning that whoever would be found to be indiscipline would be ejected from school

“I am a disciplinarian. If I hear that you are involved in any form of indiscipline, I will send you transport money so that you come back. I expect you to be committed, discipline and hard working. Government is spending money so that you acquire skills and so we expect you to reciprocate by concentrating on your courses. Wusakile constituency has been known to be unruly, but it is slowly changing for the better. Those we sent earlier to train in various skills have been disciplined and performed exceptionally well,'' Mr Kalobo said.

Mr Kalobo said skills training will help to secure most of the jobs for local Zambians and help address the concerns that foreigners were being given simple jobs which can be done by Zambians, thereby depriving local people of employment opportunities

Mr Kalobo said Zambia's economy has experienced significant development in the mining and construction sectors and that it was important that local people, in particular, youths acquired skills in Heavy Equipment like operating a Front End Loader, Dump Truck and other heavy equipment

And Nirvana Business Solutions Training Manager David Chalwe said his college was providing quality training and was ready to help the 91 youths acquire relevant knowledge in operating heavy equipment
