UPND DANCES WITH SHADOWS
UPND is almost halfway done with its ruling programme of Zambia. Sadly though, it cannot stand on its feet and show its head over the water to point at one thing it has done to elate the spirits of Zambians after winning the August 12, 2021 elections.
All its campaign promises have been washed away like water under a bridge, leaving Zambians in absolute misery.
Electricity, fuel, essential commodities and many other necessities have become unaffordable as UPND looks elsewhere. Social media is meanwhile awash with all sorts of messages against the UPND rule which could easily make our new dawn administration win a gold medal for being the most insulted government in the country’s history.
Corruption which it sang about in PF, has become the cornerstone of UPND’s high level corruption never witnessed in our nation.
Some cabinet ministers have been named in many shameful deals, but our Anti-Corruption Commission now operating from State House (or is it Community House) for strange reasons is busy instead counting stars in the universe.
UPND, it seems, is happy to be dancing with shadows but when the night falls, the shadows will disappear to allow in a stinging and hurtful reality.
Again since UPND came into power there has never been a major cabinet shakeup to improve performance. Unless all current office bearers are saints then Zambians may have nothing to worry about.
Just imagine in an area where I live near KKIA, all the residents have been handed quotations of a whopping K23, 000 each by Zesco to be connected to the main power grid. Total nonsense!
I’m more than sure whoever came up with that figure was either drunk or simply exhibited low-key incompetence.
This of course can only happen in the UPND era in which it does not care to listen to the cries of the people who put them in power.
