Kwacha MP works to hold voters’ confidence
THE UPND Kwacha Member of Parliament, Charles Mulenga has commissioned the ‘Joseph Malanji’ Bridge with a commitment to the constituents that he will work hard in order to gain and hold the confidence of the people in his constituency.
Mr Mulenga has revealed that he has a lot of plans for the people of his constituency and would work hard to deliver on all his campaign promises so that he could prove his critics wrong.
Mr Mulenga said he has a lot of plans and was asking the people in his constituency to support his efforts of improving people’s lives in various communities of Kwacha constituency. Mr Mulenga was speaking when he handed over Kawama-Bulangililo Bridge also known as Malanji Bridge, ablution blocks and borehole at Kwacha market which were built using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
He said the footbridge, ablution blocks and boreholes were the begining of better things to come and he was sure that he will get the necessary support in the area where various projects will be.
“As your MP I have a lot of good plans for you and I will work hard to deliver, however I will need your support to deliver these campaign promises, President Hakainde Hichilema has increased CDF and must be put to good use,” Mr Mulenga said. Commenting on the footbridge, Mr Mulenga said the bridge was an important link between Chimwemwe and Kwacha constituencies as it would enable the residents in the two areas to easily access the constituencies. He said residents in the area previously used to face challenges in accessing the respective constituencies which would no longer be the case with the construction of the Malanji Bridge.
And at Kwacha market where he commissioned the ablution blocks and borehole, Mr Mulenga said the construction of the ablution blocks and installation of a borehole will improve sanitation levels at the market so that the traders operate in a more conducive environment.
He said having ablution blocks which are in good condition and running water at the market is key to making the trading environment conducive.
He cautioned the residents to put the two facilities to good use and ensure that they are safeguarded from vandalism.
