OCIDA REGRETS SUPPORTING HH

-

THE Our Civic Duty Association (OCiDA) says it regrets ever supporting President Hakainde Hichilema for the country’s presidency but should have “panel beaten” former President Edgar Lungu who was a far much better President than the current head of State.

Brebnar Changala, a member of OCiDA says President Hichilema had promised that he was going to govern the country under the doctrine of the rule of law and not by the whims and caprices of man but that he had completely renegaded on all but one pledge of removing cadres from public places.

And Mr Changala has predicted that should the UPND go for a convention to elect a new president, with Local Government and Rural Rural Development Minister Garry Nkimbo as a contender, President Hichilema would be retired in national interest through a humiliating defeat because the head of State has become exceedingly unpopular within the ruling party.

Mr Changala, the civil rights and political activist says Zambians were wondering why they had changed government by voting out the Patriotic Front (PF) when President Hichilema who had ascended to the presidency with the promise of change had failed to change anything about how the country should be governed.

“We regret supporting President Hakainde Hichilema… we should have just panel beaten former President Edgar Lungu so that he becomes a better President by removing cadres from the streets. He (FORMER President Lungu) was a better President than Mr Hichilema, We give Mr Hichilema credit on removing cadres from the streets although he likes over-crediting himself,” Changala has said.

“Mr Hichilema cannot finish a sentence without mentioning PF because that is the animal that haunts him the most. When we supported Mr Hichilema, it was based on change and the rule of law but we regret because he has changed nothing but has become a replica of the PF,” he said.
