TEXILA American University Zambia has launched programmes in Bachelors of Science in hospitality management and Bachelors of Science in tourism management as part of expanding the school programmes.

University deputy Vice Chancellor, Balamurugan Easwaran, said the programmes were designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to thrive in the dynamic and evolving fields of hospitality and tourism.

Dr. Easwaran said what sets the programmes apart was their strategic partnership with the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH).

He said the integration ensured that the curriculum aligns with industry standards, providing students with a globally recognised qualification.

“Moreover, the programmes offer a unique pathway for students with aspirations to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom. Our collaboration with CTH opens doors for our graduates to seamlessly transition into UK universities,” he said.

Mr Lungu said the hospitality and tourism industries were inherently international, and by offering programmes that meet global standards, the university was opening doors to a world of possibilities for students.

He said the inclusion of accreditation from the confederation of CTH was a testament to the university’s commitment to excellence. “This accreditation not only enhances the credibility of the programmes but also ensures that our students receive an education that aligns with international standards. the global recognition of these credentials means that our graduates will be well-prepared to pursue further education in renowned universities around the world,” he said.

Mr Lungu said the landscape of education was evolving, and being able to access quality education was a key factor in shaping successful careers.
