ACC CLEANS KAKUBO?

…as the Chinese businessmen is claiming US$ 600 000 but the former Foreign Affairs Minister agreed to pay back US$300 000 which has not yet been paid with requests to have the money paid reportedly ignored.

It was a dispute between Senegalese emeralds owned giant, Grizzly Mining Limited and Mr Kakubo which was said to have been the cause a fallout between Mr Zhang, and the former Minister resulting into Lianan Mining Company demanding US$893, 000 refund and the surrendering of the luxurious Mercedes Benz X Class car within 48 hours.

Sources said Chinese who blew the lid against Mr Kakubo is enraged that the former Foreign Affairs Minister had been cleared without questioning the complaints in the scandal who had provided evidence to the effect that the former Minister was in fact involved in fraud.

Millennium Radio has been told that Mr Kakubo has up until now not met his end of the bargain in a deal where he had agreed to pay back US$300 000 in exchange that the Chinese nationals should not escalate the matter to the level of litigation.

Barely after being forced to resign from his ministerial position, Mr Kakubo was given a 48 hours ultimatum by Mr Zhyang with whom he had entered into a joint mining venture to refund US$893, 000 with 10 percent interest as well as surrender the luxurious Mercedes Benz.

But according to information obtained, had the ACC been serious with investigating Mr Kakubo of corruption and fraud, the commission could have first started with investigating former Minister as to how he used a company called Hounslow Investments in which he was not a shareholder but was co-owned with a Ministry of Mines official to defraud the Chinese national.

The Chinese has charged that there was cause to believe that there was pecuniary advantage in the matter by Mr Kakubo and that there were some officials within the ACC who were allegedly using the Commission to launder the former Foreign Affairs Minister.

The Chinese businessman and his associates are believed to have invested about US$1 million in the transaction plus Range Rover Vehicle and a luxurious Mercedes Benz.

The said Mine is located in Mafita area of Kasempa District and has now an injunction on it after protracted physical battles between rival businessmen who all claim ownership.
