Investrust, NHIMA launch smart pay platform

- By BUUMBA CHIMBULU

INVESTRUST Bank plc with the National Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) have launched a smart pay platform which will facilitate online payments for members on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to make their contributions.

With progressive conversations between the financial service industry and NHIMA, over four million principal members inclusive of beneficiaries have so far been registered.

The newly launched smart pay platform will, therefore, enable NHIMA members to be able to make their monthly contributions through the Investrust Bank plc online platforms.

This is according to the NHIMA Director General, Michael Njapau, at the launch of the initiative in Lusaka yesterday.

Mr Njapau said NHIMA continues to strengthen relationships with financial institutions as it strives to attain universal health coverage.

"We are glad today to add another financial institution to our payment platform by joining hands with Investrust Bank plc to leverage our institutional digital platform's capabilities.

"You may wish to noted that our E-NHIMA platform is designed in such a way that one can register and make payments online, making it easier for members and employees to submit returns and pay contributions conveniently," he said.

Mr Njapau underscored that the banking sector is not a new partner to NHIMA as it has been helping the institution to grow its fund investment portfolio.

He stressed NHIMA's continuation to foster a strong relationship and work collaboration with the banking sector to drive the Government' agenda.

And Investrust Bank plc Managing Director, Simangolwa Shakalima, said the partnership aligns well with the bank’s vision of being the preferred financial institution in the chosen markets.

Mr Shakalima said the bank was deliberate and intentional about embracing and making meaningful investments in its digitalisation agenda.

“We are thrilled that with this partnership, our customers are able to pay for NHIMA contributions via investnet in the comfort of their own spaces.

“Customer service makes one of our strategic pillars as we work to achieve our goals, we aim to exceed customer’s expectations at every touch point of experience that they have with us. We believe that this can only be realised through value addition to their customers journey with us,” he said.
