KAMBWILI UNWELL - MWEETWA

…says it would be immoral for government to respond to Kambwili’s blackmail allegations when then man is sick, needs prayers and medical treatment

- By NATION REPORTER

GOVERNMENT has said Chishimba Kambwili, who is currently in Zimbabwe is unwell and has called on Zambians to pray for him so that he can recover and come back home.

Cornelius Mweetwa, the Information and Media Minister says it would be immoral and unZambian for government to begin engaging in political wrestling with Mr Kambwili who is sick and requiring medical attention.

Mr Mweetwa, who is the Chief government spokesperson said in an interview yesterday that Mr Kambwili’s health was failing and that Zambians should come together in prayers so that the Patriotic Front (PF) senior member could recover and return home.

He said Mr Kambwili had contributed immensely to the leadership of the country and that there was no way the UPND government and Zambians in general could obliterate his services by sweeping his leadership contributions under the carpet.

Commenting on revelations by Mr Kambwili that the State had blackmailed him to demonise and scandalize Zambia’s Sixth President Dr Edgar Lungu, validate expelled Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa as PF president, Mr Mweetwa said the former Roan Member of Parliament was speaking from a sick bed and it would be immoral for government to begin disparaging him.

“The man (Kambwili) is ill and us as government and Zambians in general should be praying for his recovery and not to engage him in his malicious outbursts. Mr Kambwili is ill and we are asking Zambians to pray for his recovery. We want him to come back home fit as a fiddle…the way we have always known him. At that point in time, we shall respond to his allegations. For now, it is immoral for us to begin to respond to a man speaking from a sick bed,” Mr Mweetwa said. He stated Zambians naturally were ever sympathetic with each other in times of difficulties and that if one was unwell, citizens often prayed for each other because before any social or political differences, there was always love among citizens.

“As Zambians, we always pray for one another when our health is failing us…when one of us falls sick because we love one another. We always wish each other good health and when Mr Kambwili recovers, that is when we can take him on. At that time we can call each other names as politicians. But when one of is ill or his or her health is threatened, we must come together and wish each other well,” Mr Mweetwa said.

Mr Mweetwa said as soon as Mr Kambwili will return home after undergoing his medical treatment, he would endavour to expose the PF senior member of all the political deals he had been engaging in against the PF and former President Dr Lungu.

“When Mr Kambwili returns home after his medical treatment, I will expose all his treacherous politicakl deals he has been doing against President Lungu and the PF which lead to the loss of power of the former President. At that opportune time, the government will respond to Mr Kambwili’s allegations, which however are baseless and unfounded,” Mr Mweetwa said.
